This medicine is indicated for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age who suffer from dry cough. It is not indicated for children between 1 and 12 years of age.
Tussal is a medicine to be taken orally. The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age is 1 sachet 3 times a day. Each sachet contains 10 ml. Before taking, it is advisable to press with the fingers to homogenise the contents several times and the sachet can be taken directly, without mixing it with water. If you miss a dose, wait for the next dose. It is not advisable to take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
The most common side effects, although rare, are drowsiness and dry mouth.
The active substance in this medicine is cloperastine fendizoate. Each sachet of Tussal contains 35.4 mg. Of which 20 mg is cloperastine hydrochloride. The other ingredients, i.e. the excipients are: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-216), microcrystalline cellulose-carmellose sodium, polysorbate 80, sucrose, banana flavouring (contains propylene glycol (E-1520) and ethanol) and purified water.
It is advisable to take it if you have symptoms, i.e. if the cough improves or disappears, it is advisable not to take it.
