Sachets for the symptomatic treatment of forms of cough not accompanied by expectoration.
Contains 150 ml.
It is a medicine formulated with dextromethorphan, an active ingredient that inhibits the cough reflex, which is why it is used to treat nervous or irritative coughs.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Take 5 ml every 4-6 hours if necessary, without exceeding 6 daily intakes.
Do not use Fritusil in children under 12 years of age.
Do not take this medicine if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressants, serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants, bupropion (drug used to stop smoking), selegiline (Parkinson's disease).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: This medicine cannot be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding as it contains ethanol.
Do not take this medicine with grapefruit juice or bitter orange juice as this may increase the side effects.
This medicine contains sucrose (special care in diabetes), ethanol (special care in patients with alcoholism), cochineal red A (may cause asthma) and methyl parahydroxybenzoate (may cause allergic reactions).
Like all medicines, Fritusil syrup may cause side effects:
Common adverse reactions: mental confusion, nausea, vomiting, constipation and fatigue.
Very frequent adverse reactions: dizziness, drowsiness.
The active ingredients of Fritusil are: dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Each ml of syrup contains 3 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
The other ingredients are: Sucrose, Sodium saccharin (E-954), Sodium benzoate (E-211), Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-218), Glycerol (E-422), Menthol, Ethanol (96%), Strawberry flavouring, Cochineal red A (E-124) and Water.
Fritusil comes in a convenient 150 ml bottle of oral solution with a measuring cup. It is reddish in colour, slightly transparent, and has a pleasant strawberry flavour.
Do not take more than the amount indicated in this leaflet. If symptoms do not improve after 3 days of treatment, consult your doctor.
