It is a medicated syrup in the form of a syrup indicated for the treatment of symptoms of unproductive cough (irritable, nervous).
It comes in a convenient 200 ml bottle.
Intended for use in adults and children over 2 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:
Children aged 2 to 4 years: 2 ml every 12 hours (twice a day).
Children 5 to 6 years old: 3 ml every 12 hours (twice a day).
Children 7 to 12 years: 5 ml every 12 hours (twice a day).
From 12 years of age: 10 ml every 8 hours (3 times a day).
Do not use Sekisan :
In children under 2 years of age.
In patients with hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients listed in the composition of this medicine.
If you suffer from asthmatic cough, productive cough, persistent cough, respiratory insufficiency, liver diseases.
In patients with MAOIs and hypersensitivity to antihistamines.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Pregnancy and lactation, do not take.
If you are going to drive or use machinery, as it may cause drowsiness and difficulty in concentration.
Sekisan syrup may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Specifically, the following have been observed:
Frequent: drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth.
Each ml of Sekisan syrup contains 3.54 mg Cloperastine fendizoate as the main active substance. The other excipients are: Sucrose, Carmellose sodium, Microcrystalline cellulose, Macrogol 2000 monostearate, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Banana essence (with Propylene glycols E1520 and Ethanol), Purified water.
Use the measuring cup supplied with the medicinal product for correct administration. Wash the measuring cup after each use.
It is recommended to drink plenty of water to keep the mucous membranes hydrated. Do not drink alcoholic beverages during the treatment.
See your doctor if you do not improve in 7 days or if the symptoms worsen.
