Cinfatos 15 mg Oral Solution 18 sachets

It is a medicine in sachet form indicated for the treatment of symptoms of dry or unproductive (irritable, nervous) cough.

It is intended for use in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

Pour the contents of 1 sachet into a glass of water and stir until completely dissolved before swallowing. The number of daily intakes will depend on the patient's needs:

• 1 sachet every 4 hours (without exceeding the maximum dose of 6 times a day).

• 2 sachets every 6-8 hours (maximum 8 sachets per day).

• In children under 12 years of age.

• In case of hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the active ingredients or excipients listed in the composition of this medicine.

• In patients with asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory insufficiency, arterial hypertension, liver diseases.

• If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline.

• In sedated, debilitated or bedridden patients.

• In patients with atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan.

• During pregnancy and lactation, without prior medical advice.

Cinfatos sachets 15 mg may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In particular, the following common side effects have been observed: drowsiness and dizziness.

Each sachet of Cinfatos contains 15 mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide as the main active substance. The other excipients are: non-crystallisable liquid sorbitol (E-420), sodium benzoate (E-211), sodium saccharin (E-954), citric acid monohydrate, orange flavouring, ethyl alcohol 96%, purified water.

This medicine can be taken with or without food, but should not be taken with orange or grapefruit juice. Alcoholic drinks should not be taken for the duration of the treatment.

If the cough worsens or persists after more than 7 days of treatment, seek medical advice, especially if accompanied by high fever, skin rash or persistent headache.
