Parlatos 2 Mg/ ml Syrup 200 ml

It is a medicine in syrup form indicated for the treatment of symptoms of unproductive or dry cough (irritable, nervous).

It is intended for use in adults and children over 2 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:

• From 12 years of age: 5 ml every 4-8 hours (4 or 3 times a day).

• Children from 6 to 12 years: 2.5 ml every 4-8 hours (4 or 3 times a day).

• Children from 2 to 6 years: 1.25 ml every 4-8 hours (4 or 3 times a day).

Do not use Parlatos 2 mg:

• In children under 2 years of age.

• In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the active substances and/or excipients listed in the composition of this medicinal product.

• In patients with asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory failure, high blood pressure, liver disease.

• If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline.

• In sedated, debilitated or bedridden patients.

• In patients with atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan.

• If pregnant or breast-feeding, except on medical advice.

Parlatos may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In particular, the following common side effects have been observed: drowsiness and dizziness.

Each ml of Parlatos Syrup contains 2 mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide as the main active substance. The other excipients are: Sucrose, Saccharin sodium, Sodium hydroxide, Sorbic acid (E-200), Disodium edetate, Peppermint essence, Cochineal red A (E-124), Water.

For correct administration of the medicine, use the measuring spoon and wash after each use.

Do not take with grapefruit or orange juice.

It is important to drink plenty of water during treatment to hydrate mucous membranes.
