Syrup for the symptomatic treatment of cough not accompanied by expectoration. From 2 years of age.
Contains 200 ml.
It is an oral solution medicine formulated with dextromethorphan, so its action is to inhibit the cough reflex. It is used to treat nervous or irritative coughs in adults and children from 2 years of age.
Adults and children over 2 years of age.
Children aged 2-5 years: 1.25-2.5 ml depending on the intensity of the cough every 4 hours if necessary.
Children 6-11 years: 2.5-5ml depending on the intensity of the cough every 4 hours.
From 12 years onwards: 5-10 ml every 4 hours if necessary.
Do not use Bisolvon Antitussive Syrup:
Children under 2 years of age is contraindicated.
Do not take this medicine if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressants, serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants, bupropion (drug used for smoking cessation), selegiline (Parkinson's disease).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: This medicine cannot be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding as it contains propylene glycol.
Do not take this medicine with grapefruit juice or bitter orange juice as this may increase the side effects.
Like all medicines, Bisolvon antitussive syrup may cause side effects,
Common side effects: mental confusion, nausea, vomiting, constipation and fatigue.
Very common side effects: dizziness, drowsiness.
The active substance is dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Each ml of Bisolvon Antitussive syrup contains 2 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide. The other ingredients are: saccharin sodium, maltitol liquid (E965), propylene glycol (E1520), vanilla flavouring, apricot flavouring, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and purified water.
Bisolvon antitussive syrup comes in a 200ml bottle with a measuring cup. It has an apricot and vanilla scent.
Do not take more than the amount stated in this leaflet. If symptoms do not improve after 3 days of treatment, consult your doctor.
