Tablets for the prevention of symptoms of motion sickness. From 7 years of age.
Contains 4 tablets.
Biodramine is a medicine in tablet form formulated with dimenhydrinate, an active ingredient that combats motion sickness caused by means of transport, whether by land, sea or air.
It is intended for use in adults and children from 7 years of age who are prone to travel sickness.
Take the tablet with food, milk or a glass of water, preferably 1 to 2 hours before the start of the journey. Allow at least 4 to 6 hours between doses if dizziness persists.
The recommended daily dose varies according to the age of the patient:
- Adults: take 1 or 2 tablets, repeating the dose every 4-6 hours, not exceeding a maximum of 8 tablets per day.
- Children from 7 to 12 years of age: take half to 1 tablet, repeating the dose every 6-8 hours if symptoms persist. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 3 tablets per day.
- Children from 2 to 6 years of age: it is recommended to use the Biodramina Ingantil variety, which contains a lower dose adapted to this group of patients.
Do not take Biodramine:
- In children under 2 years of age.
- In case of allergy to dimenhydrinate, diphenhydramine or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine.
- If you suffer from porphyria or asthmatic crisis.
Biodramine tablets may cause side effects, as with all medicines. This does not mean that everyone will experience side effects. In this case, such effects are usually mild and transient, and may include:
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, dry mouth, dizziness.
- Stomach pain, lack of appetite.
- Numbness, hypertension, hypotension.
- Urinary retention, sexual impotence, hyperexcitability.
- Dilated pupils, blurred or double vision, glaucoma.
- Skin hypersensitivity, increased photosensitivity, redness, itching and urticaria.
- Increased mucus viscosity.
- Palpitations, tachycardia and/or arrhythmias.
- Decreased red blood cells, white blood cells, leukocytes and platelets.
- Porphyria (rare disorder, usually inherited).
Each tablet contains 50 mg dimenhydrinate as the main active substance. The other excipients are: pregelatinised maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium sulphate dihydrate, magnesium stearate, quinoline yellow (E104).
Biodramine is an antihistamine medicine in tablet form used to prevent or reduce the symptoms of kinetic motion sickness, i.e. those caused by means of transport such as boats, aeroplanes or cars.
It is taken orally with water at least 30 minutes before the start of the journey. Thanks to its granulated tablets, it can be divided in half. However, they can cause drowsiness, so extreme caution should be exercised when driving. Itis not recommended to drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
