Tablets with doxylamine for the symptomatic treatment of occasional insomnia in people over 18 years of age.

It is a medicine in tablet form formulated with doxylamine, an active substance that has antihistamine action and sedative properties, and is used for the treatment of occasional insomnia.
It is intended for use in adults over 18 years of age who suffer from occasional insomnia.
Take 1 or 2 tablets a day with a little water, 30 minutes before going to bed, without exceeding the maximum dose of 2 tablets a day (25 mg of doxylamide).
In people over 65 years of age, it may be necessary to adjust the dose, as they are more sensitive to side effects. On the other hand, people with liver or kidney disease should modify the dose according to the degree of their disease, always under medical supervision.
If drowsiness occurs with the use of this medicine, it is advisable not to take more than one tablet or to bring forward the time of taking it. The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days.
Do not take Dormidine:
In children under 18 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to doxylamide, to other antihistamines, or to any of the components present in this medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Dormidine 12.5 mg may cause side effects, as with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will experience them. In this case, the effects of doxylamine are usually mild and transitory, and disappear once treatment is stopped:
Frequent: dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, headache, insomnia, drowsiness, nervousness, constipation, blurred vision, vertigo, pain in the upper abdomen, urinary retention and increased bronchial secretion.
Rare: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, peripheral oedema, tinnitus, asthenia, skin rash, diplopia, dyspepsia, orthostatic hypotension, dyspnoea, feeling of relaxation and nightmares.
Rare: tremor, agitation, convulsions, blood problems.
Frequency not known: general malaise.

Each tablet of Dormidine contains 12.5 mg doxylamine hydrogen succinate as the main active substance. The other excipients in the core are: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate (E-341), microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), potato sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), colloidal anhydrous silica (E-551), magnesium stearate (E-572). The coating components are: Microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), Polyoxyethylene stearate-40 (E-431), Propylene glycol (E-1520), Hypromellose (E-464), Titanium dioxide (E-171), Cochineal red A (E-124), Polyethylene glycol 400, Polyethylene glycol 6000.
Dormidine 12.5 mg is a medicine classified as an antihistamine with sedative effect, very useful in the management of occasional insomnia in adults over 18 years of age.
It is taken orally, preferably with water, half an hour before bedtime. Thanks to its elongated form, it is easy to take, although the smallest effective dose should always be taken, up to two tablets a day (25 mg in total).
