Tebofortan 120 mg, 30 Tablets

It is a medicine in the form of film-coated tablets containing 120 mg ofGinkgo bilobaextractEGb 761®. This herbal medicine is indicated for the improvement of age-related cognitive decline.

It comes in a pack of 30 tablets.

Suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age.

The recommended dose is 1 tablet of Tebofortan 120 mg, twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening (equivalent to a total of 240 mg ofGinkgo bilobaextractper day).

The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after a treatment period of 3 months, a doctor should be consulted as to whether it is advisable to continue treatment.

Likeall medicines ,Tebofortan 120 mg may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.In this case, these are the effects that may occur during treatment:

• Adverse reactions mainly consist of gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain and nausea, but also, headache, dizziness and vertigo or aggravation of existing vertigo.
• There are isolated reports of bleeding from individual organs.
• Allergic shock or allergic skin reactions (redness, swelling, itching)may occur in hypersensitive individuals .

In case of increased bleeding tendency (haemorrhagic diathesis) and simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, this medicine should only be taken after consultation with a doctor. Isolated reports indicate the possibility that preparations containing Ginkgo may increase the tendency to bleed.

This medication should be discontinued before surgery. Inform your doctor in due time that you have takenTebofortanso that he/she can decide how to proceed.

If you suffer from epileptic seizures, consult your doctor before starting treatment withTebofortan.

The active substance in Tebofortan is 120.0 mg of dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves EGb 761® (dry plant/extract ratio: 35-67:1), obtained with 60% m/m acetone, quantified at 26.4 - 32.4 mg of flavonoids calculated as flavoneglycosides and 6.48 - 7.92 mg of terpene lactones, of which 3.48 - 7.92 mg of flavonoids are flavonoids.of which 3,36 - 4,08 mg are ginkgolides A, B, and C, and 3,12 - 3,84 mg are bilobalides and not more than 0,6 micrograms are ginkgolic acids . The other excipients arecroscarmellose sodium, colloidal silica dioxide , hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, magnesium stearate, and magnesium stearate. corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, dimethicone, alpha octadecyl omega hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)5, sorbic acid (E-200), talc and colouring agents: titanium dioxide (E-171) and iron oxide red (E-172).

If you forget to take Tebofortan 120 mg,do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
