It is a medicine in the form of chewing gum formulated with dimenhydrinate, for the treatment and prevention of symptoms of motion sickness.
It comes in a handy pack of 6 chewing gums.
Intended for use in adults and children over 6 years of age seeking to treat the symptoms of motion sickness caused by land, sea or air travel.
Take 1 or 2 chewing gums and chew for 5-10 minutes, taking into account that the first intake should be 1-2 hours before the start of the journey or, at least, 30 minutes before. If it has not been taken in that time and the journey has already begun, wait for the first symptoms to appear.
Ifdizziness persists, allow at least 6 hours between each dose. Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose of 7 chewing gums per day.
Do not use Biodramina chewing gum:
In children under 6 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medicine.
In asthmatic patients.
In patients with porphyria.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you are:
You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
In case of phenylketonuria or intolerance to certain sugars, as it contains aspartame (E-951), glucose, sucrose and sorbitol.
Biodramina chewing gum may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Such effects are usually mild and transient, mainly at the beginning of treatment.
More specifically, during the period of use of dimenhydrinate, the following reactions have been observed, the frequency of which could not be established exactly:
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain.
Sleep and sedation
Headache, dizziness and lightheadedness.
Increased mucus viscosity in the bronchi, making breathing difficult.
Urinary retention and sexual impotence.
Glaucoma
Dilated pupils, blurred vision or double vision.
Allergic skin reactions and sensitivity to sunlight.
Decreased numbers of red blood cells, white blood cells, white blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in the blood.
Porphyria
Hypertension or hypotension
Tachycardia, palpitations and/or cardiac arrhythmias.
Hyperexcitability may occur, especially in children, with symptoms such as insomnia, nervousness, confusion, tremor, irritability, euphoria, delirium, palpitations and even convulsions.
Lack of appetite and dry mouth.
Each medicated chewing gum contains 20 milligrams of dimenhydrinate as the active ingredient. The other excipients present in the core are: aspartame (E-951), gum base, dextrin, semi-synthetic solid glycerides, light magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate (E-572), levomenthol, saccharin só(E-954), sucrose, anhydrous colloidal silica, sorbitol (E-420), talc, white beeswax, copolymer of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate (Eudragit S), peppermint flavouring. The coating agents are as follows: Calcium carbonate, liquid glucose, basic copolymer of butyl methacrylate (Eudragit E), macrogol 35000, emulsifying wax, dihydropotassium dihydrogen phosphate, povidone (E-1201), titanium dioxide (E-171), magnesium stearate (E-572), levomenthol, peppermint essence, povidone 25, sucrose, talc.
These are round, white chewing gums with a pleasant mint flavour and a very simple method of use: just chew the gum for about 5-10 minutes and discard it after the time has elapsed.
