It is a medicine formulated with dimenhydrinate, an active ingredient used to prevent and treat the symptoms of motion sickness caused by means of transport, whether by land, sea or air.
It is specially formulated for children and comes in a convenient pack of 10 film-coated tablets.
Intended for use in children aged 2 to 12 years seeking relief from the symptoms of motion sickness.
Take the required dose (according to age) at least 30 minutes before the start of the journey, preferably 1-2 hours beforehand.
The recommended dosage varies according to the age range of the patient. Specifically:
Children aged 7 to 12 years: take 1 or 2 tablets. If necessary, repeat the dose every 6 to 8 hours. Maximum 6 tablets per day, always divided into several doses.
Children 2 to 6 years: take half a tablet or 1 tablet. Repeat the dose every 6 to 8 hours, if necessary. Maximum 3 tablets a day, always divided into several doses.
If you have missed a dose, wait until the first symptoms appear. If it is necessary to repeat the dose, allow at least 6 hours.
Do not use Cinfamar Infantil:
In children under 2 years of age and over 12 years of age, for whom there are other more specific formulations.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components of this medicinal product.
In patients with porphyria.
In asthmatic patients.
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicinal product if:
You are over 65 years of age.
You suffer from severe respiratory diseases, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, hyperthyroidism, cardiac arrhythmia, epilepsy, hepatic or digestive disease...
You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Cinfamar Infantil may cause side effects, as with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will experience them.
On this occasion, these effects are generally mild and transitory, although their frequency is unknown:
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain.
Lack of appetite and dry mouth.
Sleepiness and drowsiness
Headache, dizziness and lightheadedness.
Increased mucus viscosity in the bronchial tubes, making breathing difficult.
Urinary retention and sexual impotence.
Glaucoma
Dilated pupils, blurred vision or double vision.
Allergic skin reactions and sensitivity to intense sunlight.
Decreased numbers of red blood cells, white blood cells, white blood cells, leukocytes and platelets in the blood.
Porphyria
hypertension or hypotension
Tachycardia, palpitations and/or cardiac arrhythmias.
Hyperexcitability may occur, especially in young children, with symptoms such as insomnia, nervousness, confusion, tremor, irritability, euphoria, delirium, palpitations and even convulsions.
Each tablet of Cinfamar Infantil contains 25 mg of dimenhydrinate. The other excipients are: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, maize starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, talc, magnesium stearate, Opadry OY-1141 (hypromellose, titanium dioxide, erythromellose, titanium dioxide, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate).(hypromellose, titanium dioxide, erythrosine, indigotine, iron oxide hydroxide, macrogol 400), macrogol 6000.
This medicine comes in the form of coated and slotted tablets that do not require any special storage conditions, making them ideal to take on any journey.
However, it may cause some gastric irritation, so it is recommended to take it with water, milk or food to minimise the risk.
