Thrombocid is a medicine in the form of an ointment belonging to the group of so-called topical antivarcotics which, when applied to the skin, improves blood flow. Thrombocid istherefore used for thelocal relief of symptoms of both superficial venous disorders such as heaviness and tightness in the legs, andsuperficialbruisingcaused by blows.
It comes in a 60 g pack.
Suitable for use in adults and children over 1 year of age.
Apply a thin layer of Thrombocid ointment to the affected skin area, massaging gently to facilitate penetration and washing hands after each use .
A bandage is not usually necessary, although it can be covered with gauze or a compress if necessary. Although it can be reapplied several times throughout the day, do not exceed a maximum of 4 applications per day.
Do not use Thrombocid 60 gr:
As withall medicines on the market,Thrombocid may cause side effects.This does not mean that everyone will suffer from them. In this case,allergic reactions at the site of application, which may manifest as itching and irritation, have been observed very rarely and disappear when treatment is discontinued.
Take special care with Thrombocid, because:
The active substance in Thrombocid ointment is pentosan polysulphate sodium. Specifically,each gram of ointment contains 1 milligram of pentosan polysulphate sodium as the active substance. The other excipients are:Ketostearyl alcohol , sodium ketostearyl sulphate (E540i), polyoxyethylated castor oil , butyl hydroxyanisole (E320), citric acidtric acid (E330), decyl oleate , sorbitol (E420i), propylene glycol, sorbic acid (E200), ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), guaiazulene, thymol and water.
It is not recommended to apply other skin preparations to the same area. If you think that the action of Thrombocid is too strong or too weak, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Similarly, if symptoms worsen and persist for more than 5 days, as well as if irritation occurs, discontinue application and consult your doctor.
