Medicated ointment for the local symptomatic relief of bruising and venous disorders.

It is a medicine made with sodium sulphate as the active ingredient, thanks to its blood flow-promoting properties. It is therefore used to relieve tightness and heaviness in the legs in the case of varicose veins (superficial venous disorders) and for the symptomatic relief of superficial haematomas.
It comes in a tube containing 60 g of ointment.
Intended for adults and children over 1 year of age, depending on the use of the medicine.
For venous disorders:
In adults over 18 years of age: apply a thin layer of medicated ointment 2 to 3 times a day, massaging it in to promote penetration. The duration of treatment is usually 2 weeks.
If it is for bruises:
In adults and children over 1 year of age: administer 1 thin layer of ointment on the bruise up to 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is usually 10 days.
Do not use Hirudoid Forte Ointment:
In children under 1 year of age.
If you are allergic or hypersensitive to the active substance or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
Do not use this medicine if you have blood clotting problems or on open or infected wounds, mucous membranes or ulcers.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Hirudoid Forte Ointment may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market.
Common side effects: local (non-systemic) reactions, irritation or itching of the area.
The active substance in Hirudoid Forte Ointment is sodium chondroitin sulphate. Each gram of ointment contains 4.45 milligrams of sodium chondroitin sulphate. The other ingredients are: isopropyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol, polyacrylic acid and purified water.
This is a very useful medicine for the relief of symptoms associated with varicose and bruised legs and is packaged in a lacquered aluminium tube.
