Medicated gel for local symptomatic relief of bruising and superficial venous disorders.

It is a medicated gel formulated with sodium sulphate as the active ingredient, which has a blood flow-promoting action. It is therefore indicated for the relief of tightness and heaviness of the legs in the case of varicose veins (superficial venous disorders) and for the relief of the symptoms of superficial bruising caused by blows.
It comes in a tube containing 40 g of gel.
Suitable for use in adults and children over 1 year of age, depending on the use of the medicine.
Treatment for venous disorders:
In adults over 18 years of age: apply a thin layer of medicated gel 2 to 3 times a day, massaging until completely absorbed. The duration of treatment is usually 2 weeks.
Treatment for bruises:
In adults and children over 1 year: apply 1 thin layer of gel to the bruise up to 3 times a day. Duration of treatment is usually 10 days.
Do not use Hirudoid Gel:
In children under 1 year of age.
If you are allergic or hypersensitive to the active substance or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
Do not use this medicine if you have blood clotting problems or on open or infected wounds, mucous membranes or ulcers.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Hirudoid Gel may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market.
Common: local (non-systemic) reactions, irritation or itching of the area.
The active substance in Hirudoid Gel is sodium chondroitin sulphate, each gram of gel contains 3 milligrams of sodium chondroitin sulphate. The other excipients are isopropyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol, polyacrylic acid and purified water.
This medicine comes in a lacquered aluminium tube and is widely used for the treatment of symptoms associated with varicose veins and superficial bruising of the legs.
