It is a medicine in the form of an ointment for cutaneous use that belongs to the group of topical antivarcotics. Its use improves blood flow, helping to dissolve clots caused by minor bruises or varicose veins in the legs.
It comes in a 100g tube pack.
Its use is intended for adults and children over one year of age who are looking for relief from superficial bruises caused by blows. In adults, it also helps to soothe heaviness and tightness in legs with varicose veins.
Apply a thin layer of Thrombocid Forte ointment to the affected skin area, massaging gently until completely absorbed, 3 or 4 times a day.
Do not use Thrombocid Forte 100 gr:
- Allergy or hypersensitivity to pentosan polysulphate sodium or any of the other components of this product.
- Coagulation disorders.
- On mucous membranes, open wounds or ulcers.
- During pregnancy or breast-feeding, unless otherwise recommended by a doctor.
As with other medicines, Thrombocid Forte may cause side effects, such as allergic reactions in the form of itching or irritation, which disappear when treatment is stopped. In particular, it may cause contact dermatitis due to its composition of ketostearyl alcohol, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propylene glycol .
Thrombocid Forte contains 5 mg pentosan polysulphate sodium as the main active substance. The other excipients of this product are: ketostearyl alcohol, ketomacrogol 1000, glycerol (E422), propylene glycol, decyl oleate, phenoxyethanol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214) and water.
Thrombocid forte ointment is a topical antivarcotic anti-inflammatory ointment that helps to improve blood flow. It is therefore indicated for bruises and haematomas or to relieve the symptoms of tired legs. A thin layer can be applied after a bath in cold to lukewarm water, massaging to promote the penetration of the product for immediate comfort.
