Strepsils Peppermint 24 Units

It is a medicine in the form of sucking tablets with a refreshing mint flavour that combine the action of two antiseptics to relieve the symptoms of mild infections of the mouth and throat, which are painful and without fever.

Available in a pack of 24 tablets.

Suitable for use in adults and children from 6 years of age.

The recommended daily dose varies according to the age of the patient:

• Adults: take 1 tablet every 2-3 hours, not to exceed 8 a day.
• Children over 6 years of age: take 1 tablet every 6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 a day.

Do not use Strepsils Menta:

• In children under 6 years of age.
• Special care in pregnancy and breast-feeding.
• This medicine contains sucrose and glucose (so consult your doctor if you have an intolerance to some sugars), sodium, fragrances containing allergens, wheat starch and sulphur dioxide (may cause allergic reactions).

As with all medicines, Strepsils Menta may cause side effects, which may include:

• Frequent: irritation of the tongue and/or mouth and allergic reactions such as skin rash or redness.

• Very common: Abdominal pain, nausea or mouth discomfort.

The active ingredients of Strepsils Menta are: 0.6 mg amylmethacresol and 1.2 mg 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. The other excipients are: xylitol, peppermint flavouring (contains d-limonene and linalool), levomenthol, peppermint flavouring (contains benzyl alcohol, cinnamyl alcohol, citral, citronyl citrate, citronyl alcohol and cinnamyl alcohol).(contains benzyl alcohol, cinnamyl alcohol, citral, citronellol, d-limonene, eugenol and linalool), eucalyptus oil (contains d-limonene), sucrose, liquid glucose (contains wheat starch and sulphur dioxide (E-220)).

These are mint-flavoured medicated lozenges for the relief of symptoms of sore and scratchy throat.

This tablet is for oropharyngeal use only, so the tablets should be sucked slowly (without chewing or swallowing) to allow the local action to take effect on contact with the affected area.

Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days, unless expressly recommended by a doctor.
