Bucospray Topical Spray 25 ml

It is a medicine formulated with two active ingredients, which act in combination:

• Antiseptic action of chlorhexidine

• Local anaesthetic action of benzocaine.

It is presented in a solution for oral spraying, indicated for the treatment of throat disorders such as itching, irritation, aphonia, etc.

Adults and children over 6 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:

• Children between 6 and 12 years: 1 spray every 2 or 3 hours without exceeding 8 sprays per day.

• Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 applications every 2 or 3 hours without exceeding 16 sprays per day.

• It is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age, as well as special caution in those over 65 years of age due to the effects of benzocaine.

• Pregnancy and lactation: a doctor should be consulted.

Like all medicines, Bucospray may cause side effects:

• Frequent adverse reactions: irritation in the mouth or on the tip of the tongue, these are usually transient side effects.

• Very common side effects: yellowing of the teeth due to the use of chlorhexidine.

The active ingredients of Bucospray are chlorhexidine gluconate and benzocaine. Each ml of solution contains 0,5 mg of chlorhexidine gluconate (each 0,05 ml spray contains 0,025 mg) and 15 mg of benzocaine (each 0,05 ml spray contains 0,75 mg).

The other ingredients are: saccharin sodium, 96º ethanol, glycerol, ammonium glycyrrhizinate and strawberry essence.

Bucospray comes in a 25 ml nebuliser bottle with a dosing valve.

This medicine should not be used before eating or drinking. Before using the bottle, it is advisable to spray 2 or 3 times into the air to charge the dosing valve.
