Anestefarin is a medicine in the form of sucking tablets that combine antiseptic and disinfectant action with analgesic capacity thanks to the active ingredients it contains. It is therefore used for the relief of temporary and mild symptoms of infections of the mouth and throat, which may include pain, aphthae, aphonia, etc.
Intended for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.
Take 1 sucking tablet every 2 or 3 hours, dissolving it slowly in the mouth. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 8 tablets a day.
Do not use Anestefarin:
In children under 6 years of age.
In case of allergy to any of the components of this medicine.
Special care in pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Anestefarin may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Among them, the following have been observed:
Frequent: irritation of the tongue and/or mouth and allergic reactions due to chlorhexidine or benzocaine.
Very frequent: alteration in the colouring of teeth, which is usually transitory and is eliminated by dental cleaning.
Each Anestefarin lozenge contains 5 mg chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and 5 mg benzocaine as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: mannitol (E-421), microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium (E-954), menthol essence and orange flavouring.
This medicine comes in the form of sucking tablets with a pleasant orange flavour. As they are for oropharyngeal use, they should be sucked slowly, without chewing or swallowing, so that they can act on the affected area.
