Mucolytic indicated for thinning excessive and/or thick bronchial secretions, facilitating their elimination.

It is a mucolytic medicine in syrup form that is indicated for treating upper respiratory tract disorders, which involve the production and excessive secretion of mucus, and are associated with colds and flus.
Intended for use in adults and children over 2 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:
Adults and children 12 years and over: 15 ml every 8 hours (3 times a day).
Children 6-12 years: 5 ml every 8 hours (3 times a day).
Children 2-5 years: 2.5 ml 2-4 times a day.
Do not use Viscoteine Oral Solution:
In children under 2 years of age.
In patients with allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or components listed in the composition of this medicinal product.
In diabetic patients.
In patients with gastroduodenal ulcer, asthma or respiratory insufficiency, without prior consultation with their doctor.
In patients with impaired thyroid function, without medical supervision.
If pregnant.
Viscoteine Oral Solution may cause side effects, as is the case with all medicines on the market. Specifically, among the possible reactions, the following common gastrointestinal reactions have been observed: stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting.
Each ml of Viscoteine Oral Solution contains 50 mg Carbocisteineas the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: Sodium saccharin, Sucrose,, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium salt (E-219), Propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium salt (E-217), Caramel flavour, Caramel colour (E-150), Sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, Purified water.
For proper administration of this medicinal product, use the measuring cup and rinse after each use. Drink a glass of water immediately afterwards to facilitate the action of the mucolytic. However, do not take with grapefruit or orange juice and avoid alcoholic drinks during treatment.
It is recommended to drink plenty of water during the treatment to hydrate the mucous membranes and fluidify the mucus, thus facilitating its release.
Once opened, this product remains stable for a maximum of 4 weeks. Once this time has elapsed, discard.
If you do not notice any improvement within 5 days, or if your symptoms worsen during this time, seek medical advice.
