It is a medicinal product in the form of a syrup formulated from plants, specifically Hedera helix, to facilitate the elimination of mucus, as an expectorant for the productive cough that accompanies benign bronchial conditions.

Suitable for use in adults, adolescents and children over 2 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient.

• Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 5 ml of syrup every eight hours, three times a day.

• Children between 6 and 12 years of age: 5 ml of syrup every twelve hours, twice a day.

• Children from 2 to 5 years of age: 2.5 ml of syrup, every twelve hours, twice a day.

Do not take Prospantus syrup:

• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.

• Children under two years of age.

• Pregnancy and breast-feeding are not recommended without consulting a doctor.

Like all medicines, Prospantus syrup may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.

• Common: gastrointestinal system reactions such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea.

• Rare: allergic reactions such as hives, skin rash, difficulty breathing (dyspnoea).
