Strepsils Lidocaine, 24 Lozenges

It is a medicine in tablet form that combines the action of two antiseptics and a local anaesthetic, lidocaine, for the relief of sore throat.

It is therefore indicated for the relief of symptoms of mild infections of the mouth and throat, with or without pain or fever.

It comes in a convenient pack of 24 sucking tablets.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

Take 1 tablet of Strepsils Lidocaine every 2-3 hours, not to exceed the maximum dose of 8 per day.

Do not use Strepsils with lidocaine:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• In case of allergy to the active substance or to any of the excipients present in the composition of this medicinal product.

• This medicine contains sucrose and glucose (you should consult your doctor if you have an intolerance to some sugars), sodium (special care in hypertension), wheat starch (special care in coeliac patients) and sulphur dioxide (may cause allergic reactions).

• Special care during pregnancy and lactation.

As with all medicines, Strepsils with lidocaine may cause side effects. In this case, the following have been observed:

• Frequent: irritation of the tongue and/or mouth and allergic reactions such as skin rash or redness.

• Very frequent: abdominal pain, nausea or mouth discomfort.

The active ingredients of Strepsils with lidocaine are: 0.6 mg amylmethacresol, 1.2 mg 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and 2 mg lidocaine hydrochloride.The other excipients are: tartaric acid, levomenthol, pipermint oil (contains d-limonene), star anise oil (contains anisyl alcohol, d-limonene and linalool), quinoline yellow (E-104), indomethanol (contains d-limonene and linalool), quinoline yellow (contains d-limonene and linalona yellow (E-104), indigotine (E-132), saccharin sodium (E-954), sucrose, liquid glucose (contains wheat starch and sulphur dioxide (E-220)).

This medicine comes in the form of blue-green sucking tablets with a refreshing mint flavour.

The tablets are for oropharyngeal use and should be sucked slowly, without chewing or swallowing, to allow the local action to take effect in the affected area.

Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days without consulting your doctor.
