Rennie 84 Chewable Tablets with Mint-Lemon Sucrose

It is a medicine containing calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, two active ingredients that help to neutralise excess stomach acid. This is why Rennie is used to treat the symptoms of heartburn and acidity.

It comes in a convenient pack of 84 chewable tablets with sucrose.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age who suffer from heartburn.

Take 1 or 2 tablets, 1 hour after meals and a last one before going to bed, without exceeding the maximum dose of 6 tablets a day.

Do not take Rennie mint-lemon flavour:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• If you are allergic to any of the active substances or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

• If you suffer from severe renal insufficiency, calcium hypercalcaemia and hypophosphataemia.

• If you have a history of calcium kidney stones.

• If you suffer from hypercalciuria.

As with all medicines, Rennie may cause side effects. This does not mean that everyone will experience side effects.

In this case, at the recommended doses, the occurrence of side effects is not normal. However, the following has been observed:

• Allergic reactions have been reported very rarely.

• Prolonged use of high doses may lead to hypermagnesaemia or hypercalcaemia and gastrointestinal symptoms (such as nausea, vomiting), muscle weakness.

• Constipation has occurred in some cases. Flatulence (gas), belching and bloating may also occur.

• Abnormal muscle fatigue especially in patients with impaired renal function.

• Specific symptoms of alkaline milk syndrome may include taste dysfunction, headache, kidney problems, fatigue and lumps under the skin.

Rennie tablets contain as active ingredients: calcium carbonate, 680 mg and magnesium carbonate, 80 mg. The other excipients are: sucrose, sodium carboxymethylamidon (Type A) (from potato starch), pregelified corn starch, magnesium stearate, talc, liquid paraffin, peppermint flavouring, lemon flavouring.

Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, as they may interact. Your tablets should be chewed or dissolved in the mouth slowly but never swallowed directly.
