Almax Forte is an antacid formulated with almagate, an active ingredient that helps to neutralise excess acid in the stomach.
It comes in a pack containing 24 sachets.
It is intended to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and acidity in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Dissolve 1 sachet of Almax Forte 1.5 g in a glass of water and take, preferably 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals.
How often can Almax Forte be taken? The recommended dose of Almax Forte is 1 sachet (equivalent to 1.5 grams), three times a day. If discomfort occurs in the evening, another dose may be taken before bedtime. Do not exceed 8 grams per day (equivalent to 5 sachets).
If there is no improvement in about 14 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Can Almax Forte be taken during pregnancy? Yes, Almax Forte can be used during pregnancy, but only on medical advice. It is considered safe for the relief of heartburn in pregnancy, provided it is used on an ad hoc basis and not in excess.
Do not take Almax Forte:
Almax Forte 24 sachets may cause side effects, as is the case with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will suffer from them.
In fact, the low intestinal absorption means that adverse effects of almagate are rare, although diarrhoea has occasionally been reported, which disappears after stopping treatment.
Each sachet of Almax Forte contains 1.5 grams of almagate as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), carmellose sodium, calcium saccharin (E-954), chlorhexidine diacetate, peppermint essence, 70 % non-crystallisable sorbitol solution (E-420), simethicone emulsion (water), simethicone emulsion (water).(purified water, simethicone, polyoxyethylene sorbitan tristearate (E-436), methylcellulose (E-461), polyethylene glycol stearate, glycerol monostearate (E-471), xanthan gum (E-415), benzoic acid (E-280), glycerol monostearate (E-280), glycerol monostearate (E-472), xanthan gum (E-472), polyethylene glycol stearate (E-472).benzoic acid (E-210), sulphuric acid (E-513), sorbic acid (E-200)) and purified water.
Almax Forte is an antacidmedicine in sachet form, which can be taken directly. If you are taking other medicines, take it at least 3 hours apart.
