Pepcid 10 mg 12 Film-coated Tablets

Pepcid is a medicine in tablet form used for the relief and treatment of symptoms of heartburn and sour stomach.

It comes in a pack of 12 film-coated tablets.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and over.

Take 1 tablet at the onset of symptoms or 1 hour before a meal.

Do not exceed the maximum dose of 2 tablets a day, and do not continue treatment for more than 7 days.

Do not use Pepcid 10 mg:

• In children under 16 years of age.

• In case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients or H2 antagonists.

• During pregnancy and lactation, without prior consultation with a doctor.

Like all medicines, Pepcid may cause side effects such as headache and dizziness, and in rare cases hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm, asthenia, fatigue, drowsiness, flatulence, constipation, diarrhoea, dry mouth, loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort, skin and hepatobiliary disorders.

Pepcid contains 10 mg of Famotidine as the active substance. The other excipients are: hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised maize starch, iron oxide red (E172), talc, titanium dioxide (E171) and carnauba wax.

Treatment with this medicine should not exceed 1 week.

If symptoms persist or worsen, new symptoms appear or you experience dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing), odynophagia (pain on swallowing), nausea, severe vomiting, melena (melena), nausea and vomiting.severe vomiting, melena (blackened stools), choking or chest pain, signs or symptoms of laryngitis such as hoarseness, wheezing, coughing or choking, unexplained weight loss... you should see your doctor.
