Gaviscon Forte 48 Chewable Tablets

Gaviscon Forte is a medicine in the form of chewable tablets used to treat the symptoms of heartburn and burning. Gaviscon Forte works by forming a protective barrier around the stomach to prevent gastric reflux and soothe heartburn. It also works by reducing excess acid in the stomach.

Gaviscon Forte is intended for adults and children over 12 years of age. Pregnant and breastfeeding women can take it following the guidelines set by the doctor.

The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is to take 1 or 2 sachets together 1 hour after eating and before going to bed. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose.

Gaviscon Forte, in its format of 48 chewable tablets, may cause side effects, as is the case with all medicines on the market. In this case, the following have been observed:

• Allergic reactions, difficulty breathing and swelling of the face, mouth or throat and anaphylactic shock.

• Increased blood calcium levels, constipation, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, confusion, increased urine output, thirst and dehydration.

Each Gaviscon Forte chewable tablet contains 250 mg sodium alginate, 106.5 mg sodium hydrogencarbonate (bicarbonate) and 187.5 mg calcium carbonate as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: macrogol (20000), mannitol (E-421), copovidone, acesulfame potassium (E-950), aspartame (E-951), peppermint flavouring, azorubine (E-122), magnesium stearate, xylitol DC (contains carmellose sodium).
