What is Omeprazole and what is it used for?

Omeprazole is a medicine belonging to the so-called "proton pump inhibitors", which are responsible for reducing the acid produced by the stomach. It is therefore used for the relief of reflux symptoms, such as heartburn or acid regurgitation.

It comes in a convenient pack of 14 capsules.

Who it is for

Suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age.

Directions for use

The usual dose is 1 capsule per day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or with food. The capsules should be swallowed whole, without chewing, with a little water.

Contraindications

Do not use Omeprazole:

  • In children under 18 years of age.

  • In case of allergy to any of the components of this medicine or any of its derivatives.

  • In case of allergy to medicines containing proton pump inhibitors (e.g. pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole).
