Mucolytic that acts by reducing the viscosity of mucus, making it more fluid and facilitating its elimination.
It is a medicine in oral solution formulated with ambroxol, an active ingredient widely used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract disorders involving the production and excessive secretion of mucus.
Intended for use in adults and children over 2 years of age.
Dosage varies according to the age of the patient:
Children aged 2 to 5 years: administer 1.25 ml every 8 hours (3 times a day).
Children 6 to 12 years: take 2.5 ml every 8-12 hours (3-2 times a day).
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: take 5 ml every 12 hours (2 times a day).
Do not use Mucibron:
In children under 2 years of age.
In case of hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients present in the composition of this medicine.
If you are pregnant.
Caution in patients taking antibiotics such as amoxicline, cefuroxime, erythromycin and doxycycline.
Patients with gastroduodenal ulcer, asthma or respiratory insufficiency, consult your doctor.
Medical control in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency.
In lactation period, consult your doctor.
Mucibron may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In this case, the following frequent adverse reactions have been observed: dysgeusia, pharyngeal hypoaesthesia, nausea and oral hypoaesthesia.
Each ml of Mucibron contains 3 mg Ambroxol hydrochloride as themain active substance.The other excipients are:Ácido tartárico, Ácido cítrico monohidrato, Aroma de fresa, Aroma de frambuesa, Edetato de disodio, Sorbitol (E-420), Hidroxietilcelulosa, Parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218), Parahidroxibenzoato de propilo (E- 216), Citrato sódihydrate, Aspartame (E- 951), Glycerol, Purified water.
Use the measuring cup and wash it after each use for proper administration of this medicinal product. Drink a glass of water after each use. It is also recommended to drink plenty of water during treatment to hydrate mucous membranes and thin mucus, thus facilitating its outflow.
Once opened, it lasts for 4 weeks. After this time, it should be discarded.
