Herbion Lozenges, 16 Lozenges

Herbion is a herbal medicine indicated for the treatment of productive coughs and as an expectorant. Its ingredients include ivy leaf extracts.

Suitable for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.

The recommended daily dose varies according to the age of the patient:

• Children aged 6 -11 years: 1 tablet every 12 hours.

• From 12 years of age: 1 tablet every 8 hours.

• Do not use Herbion in children under 6 years of age because of the tablet formulation. It would be better to use the syrup formulation.

• Pregnancy and lactation: a doctor should be consulted due to lack of data.

• This medicine contains butylated hydroxyanisole (may cause skin reactions such as contact dermatitis) and isomalt type M (special care in patients with intolerance to certain sugars).

Like all medicines, Herbion may cause side effects:

• Common adverse reactions: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, allergic reactions.

The active ingredients of Herbion are: dried ivy leaf extract. Each lozenge contains 35 mg extract (as dry extract) of Hedera helix L., folium (ivy leaf) (5-7.5:1).

The remaining ingredients: isomaltose (type M) (E953), citric acid, natural caramel flavouring (propylene glycol (E1520)), natural citrus flavour (butylated hydroxyanisole (E320)), sucralose (E955) and peppermint oil. Excipient used in the extract: simethicone.

Herbion is a drug that comes in the form of lozenges, which are brown in colour with rough edges.

Take the minimum number of lozenges to relieve symptoms in as few days as possible.
