Cinfatos Expectorant Syrup 125 ml

It is a medicine in the form of a syrup indicated for the reduction of phlegm and bronchial secretions that accompany productive coughs in colds and flu.

It comes in a practical 125 ml format.

Intended for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:

• From 12 years of age: 5 ml or 10 ml, every 4-6 hours as needed.

• Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 2.5 ml or 5 ml every 4-6 hours according to need.

Do not use Cinfatos Expectorant Syrup:

• In children under 6 years of age.

• In case of hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients listed in the composition of this medicinal product.

• In patients with asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory failure, high blood pressure, liver disease or diabetes.

• In sedated, debilitated or bedridden patients.

• In patients with atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan.

• In parallel with other cough suppressant drugs.

• If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline.

• In patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, without medical supervision.

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, without first consulting a doctor. Do not take during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Cinfatos Expectorant may cause side effects, as is the case with all medicines on the market. In particular, the following common adverse reactions have been observed: drowsiness, dizziness, vertigo, headaches, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, constipation, urticaria.

Each ml of Cinfatos Expectorant contains 2.0 mg Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and 20 mg Guaifenesin as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: Povidone, Sorbitol liquid non-crystallisable (E-420), Sodium benzoate (E-211), Saccharin sodium, Citric acid monohydrate, Orange flavouring, Purified water.

For correct administration of the medicine, use the measuring cup and rinse after each use. Drink a glass of water immediately afterwards.

Do not take with grapefruit or orange juice.

It is important to drink plenty of water for the duration of the treatment, in order to hydrate mucous membranes and fluidify the mucus, thus facilitating its exit.

Once opened, the product remains stable for a maximum of 4 weeks. Once this time has elapsed, discard.

If the treatment does not improve within 5 days or if the symptoms worsen during this time, seek medical advice.
