Cinfa Cinfatos Expectorant 2/20 Mg/ ml Oral Solution 200 ml

It is a medicated syrup indicated to reduce phlegm and bronchial secretions that accompany productive coughs in colds and flu.

Intended for use in people over 6 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:

• From 12 years of age: take 5 ml or 10 ml, every 4-6 hours.

• Children from 6 to 12 years: administer 2.5 ml or 5 ml every 4-6 hours.

Do not use Cinfatos Expectorant:

• In children under 6 years of age.

• In patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components or excipients listed in the composition of Cinfatós Expectorant.

• In patients with asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory insufficiency, arterial hypertension, liver diseases.

• In sedated, debilitated or bedridden patients.

• In patients with atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan.

• In diabetic patients.

• If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline.

• In parallel with other cough suppressant medicines.

• During the first trimester of pregnancy.

Consult a doctor before using this medicine:

• Medical supervision in patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency.

• During pregnancy and breast-feeding (except during the first trimester of pregnancy, which is contraindicated).

• If you are going to drive or operate heavy machinery.

Cinfatós Expectorant may cause side effects, which is the case with all medicines. In this case, the following common side effects have been observed: drowsiness, dizziness, vertigo, headaches, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, constipation, urticaria.

Each ml of Cinfatós Expectorant contains 2.0 mg Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and 20 mg Guaifenesin as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: Povidone, Sorbitol liquid non-crystallisable (E-420), Sodium benzoate (E-211), Sodium saccharin, Citric acid monohydrate, Orange flavouring, Purified water.

Use the measuring cup for correct administration of this medicine. Wash down after each dose and drink a glass of water immediately after each dose. Do not take with grapefruit or orange juice.

It is important to drink plenty of water during treatment to hydrate the mucous membranes and thin the mucus to make it easier to pass.

Once opened, the medicine will remain stable for a maximum of 4 weeks. After this time, discard.

If there is no improvement within 5 days or if symptoms worsen during this time, seek medical advice.
