What is it indicated for?

It is indicated for the relief of excess mucus and phlegm that appear in the flu, catarrhal processes, or common cold.

 

Instructions for use

This medicine is administered orally.

Adults and children over 12 years of age: The normal dose is one measuring cup containing 15 ml of oral solution (750 mg of carbocysteine), three times a day.

Once you notice improvement, you can reduce the dose to 10 ml of oral solution (500 mg carbocysteine) three times a day, equivalent to a maximum daily dose of 30 ml of the oral solution (1.5 mg carbocysteine) three times a day, equivalent to a maximum daily dose of 30 ml of the oral solution (1.5 mg carbocysteine).You should not take more than 3 measuring cups (45 ml of oral solution containing a total of 2.25 grams of carbocysteine) in 24 hours (1 day).

It is recommended that you drink a glass of water after each dose and plenty of fluids during the day.

If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 5 days of treatment, or if: fever, skin rash, persistent headache or sore throat occur, you should consult your doctor.

If you take more ARIMUC 50 mg/ml ORAL SOLUTION than you should:

If you have taken more than you should consult your doctor, pharmacist, or call the Toxicological Information Service, telephone 915620420, indicating the medicine and the amount taken.

If you forget to take ARIMUC 50 mg/ml ORAL SOLUTION:

Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.

 

Pharmaceutical Recommendation

Do not take ARIMUC 50 mg/ml ORAL SOLUTION:

If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to carbocysteine and its derivatives, or to any of the other ingredients (excipients) of the medicine.

If you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer.

If you have asthma or any severe respiratory disease.

Take special care with ARIMUC 50 mg/ml ORAL SOLUTION because:

During the first few days of treatment, you may notice an increase in mucus and phlegm, which will decrease over the course of treatment.

Use of other medicines:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Do not take this medicine with antitussive medicines (for dry cough) or those that reduce bronchial secretions, as this may cause a build-up of fluidised mucus.

 

Use in children:

This medicine should not be given to children between the ages of 2 and 12 years.

This medicine is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.

 

Pregnancy and lactation:

This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using a medicine.

 

IMPORTANT FOR WOMEN

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. The use of medicines during pregnancy may be dangerous to the embryo or foetus and should be monitored by your doctor.

Driving and using machines:

It should be used with caution in those whose activity requires attention and who have observed dizziness or lightheadedness during treatment with this medicine.

 

Composition

As the active substance: 50 mg of carbocysteine.

The other ingredients (excipients) are: Saccharin sodium, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-218), raspberry essence, Cochineal Red A (E-124), carmellose sodium, sodium hydroxide, purified water, 1N sodium hydroxide solution (for pH adjustment).

Saccharin sodium, carmellose sodium, sodium hydroxide and 1N sodium hydroxide solution provide 7.8 mg (0.339 mmol) of sodium per ml of oral solution.
