What is Acyline 620mg/380mg/630mg and what is it for?

Acyline is an antacid drug whose mechanism of action is to neutralise excess stomach acid, so it is indicated for symptoms of heartburn and/or acidity.

Who it is intended for

Intended for use in adults and children over 12 years of age.

Directions for use

The usual dose is half to one sachet every 6 hours, whenever there are symptoms. It is recommended to be taken 20 minutes to one hour after meals. If symptoms persist, one sachet can be taken before bedtime.

Contraindications

Do not use Acyline:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, unless under medical supervision and on medical advice.

• If you suffer from alcoholism or liver problems.

Side effects

Acyline may cause side effects, as with all medicines:

• Frequent: constipation, diarrhoea or regurgitation.

• Very frequent side effects are usually very mild and temporary.

Composition of Acyline

The active ingredients are: algeldrate 620 mg, magnesium hydroxide 380 mg, aluminium hydroxide-magnesium carbonate coprecipitate 630 mg. The other excipients are: sucralose (E-955), ethanol (96%), chlorhexidine acetate, hydroxyethylcellulose, peppermint flavouring and purified water.
