Vicks Formulaexpec 13.33 Mg/Ml Honey Flavoured Syrup is a syrup that is indicated for patients with a productive cough. It helps to eliminate mucus and phlegm.
It is indicated for adults and children from 6 years of age.
Before opening the medicine, shake it well.
It is taken orally. It comes with a measuring cup to calculate the amount to be taken. Varying depending on the person
In case of adults and adolescents over 12 years, it is advisable to take 15ML 3 times a day.
That is, preferably every 8 hours. But if necessary, it could be repeated every 6 hours. Without exceeding this range.
It should not be taken more than 3 times a day. The maximum recommended dose is 90 ml every 24 hours, divided into different doses, not all in a row.
In the case of children from 6 to 11 years of age, it would be advisable to take 10 ml, also spread over 3 intakes. Ideally every 8 hours, but if necessary they could take it every 6 hours. Do not take more than 45 ml a day (spaced out in several doses).
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product (listed in section 6).
You have porphyria, a metabolic disease.
Children under 6 years of age should not take this medicinal product.
The following may occur: nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea; stomach upset, headache and dizziness.
If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking this medicine and consult a doctor immediately:
Allergic reactions, including skin rashes (which may be severe, including blistering, abrasion and peeling of the skin), itching and redness. Difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.
You have had a cough for more than 7 days or if your cough is recurrent or accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache.
You have a chronic or persistent cough, such as that associated with asthma, smoking, chronic bronchitis and emphysema (severe lung disease).
You have a cough with a large amount of mucus (phlegm).
Have severe liver or kidney problems.
You are diabetic or have difficulty digesting some sugars.
The active substance is guaifenesin, 13.33 mg/ml.
The other ingredients are: sucrose, propylene glycol, ethanol, sodium citrate, carmellose sodium, citric acid, macrogol stearate, ginger honey flavour, verbena flavour, sodium benzoate (E-211), polyethylene oxide, saccharin sodium, menthol, water.
If the symptoms do not improve within 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to seek medical advice to assess the situation.
It is advisable not to drink alcohol when taking this medicine.
If you are or suspect you are pregnant, it is best to consult your doctor before taking it, as well as if you are breast-feeding. It is not recommended unless specifically directed by your doctor.
