Cinfatos Expectorant Oral Solution 18 sachets

It is a medicine in oral solution sachets with an antitussive and expectorant action, so it is indicated for the relief of cough and the reduction of phlegm and bronchial secretions, very typical symptoms of colds and flus.

It comes in a practical pack containing 18 single-dose sachets.

Intended for use by people over 6 years of age.

The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:

• 12 years and over: 1 sachet every 4-6 hours, as needed.

• Children from 6 to 12 years: 1 sachet every 4-6 hours, as needed.

Do not use Cinfatos Expectorant Sachets:

• In children under 6 years of age.

• In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients and/or excipients of this medicine.

• In patients with asthmatic cough, productive cough, respiratory failure, high blood pressure, liver disease or diabetes.

• In sedated, debilitated or bedridden patients.

• In cases of atopic dermatitis, due to histamine release associated with the administration of dextromethorphan.

• In parallel with other cough suppressant drugs.

• If there is previous or concomitant treatment with: MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, Bupropion, Linezolid, Procarbazine, Selegiline.

• In patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency who are not under medical supervision.

• During pregnancy and breast-feeding, without consulting a doctor. Do not take during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Cinfatos Expectorant Sachets may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In particular, the following have been observed: drowsiness, dizziness, vertigo, headaches, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, constipation, urticaria.

Each sachet of Cinfatos Expectorant contains 10 mg Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and 100 mg Guaifenesin as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: Povidone, Sorbitol liquid non-crystallisable (E-420), Sodium benzoate (E-211), Saccharin sodium, Citric acid monohydrate, Orange flavouring, Purified water.

It is advisable to drink plenty of water for the duration of the treatment to hydrate the mucous membranes and fluidify the mucus, in order to facilitate its outflow.

Once opened, the product remains stable for up to 4 weeks. After this time, discard.

If there is no improvement within 5 days, or if symptoms worsen during this time, seek medical advice.
