Vilardell Suppositories Glycerine Adult 18 units

It is a medicine in the form of glycerol suppositories, an active ingredient with a laxative action and rectal administration. Its effect causes a softening of the stool and a slightly irritating local action that stimulates bowel movements.

It is therefore used for the treatment of occasional constipation.

It comes in a pack of 18 suppositories.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over.

The usual dose is 1 suppository a day, when needed.

Do not use Vilardell Glycerine Suppositories:

• In case of allergy to glycerol or to any of the other components present in this medicine.

• If you suffer from anorectal disease or inflamed haemorrhoids.

• If you have any symptoms of appendicitis or abdominal pain for which you do not know the cause.

• In children under 12 years of age.

In case of blood in stools, irritation, pain or if you do not improve you should stop the treatment and consult a doctor.

Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days in a row unless your doctor tells you to.

This medicine should only be used under strict medical supervision in patients with serious diseases, especially cardiovascular (relating to the heart or blood vessels).

Like all medicines, Vilardell Glycerine Suppositories may cause side effects, but this does not mean that everyone will suffer from them.

In the case of glycerine suppositories, irritation, itching or pain in the anus may occur, although the frequency of occurrence is unknown.

The active ingredient in Vilardell Glycerine Suppositories is glycerol. Specifically,each suppository contains 3,000 mg of glycerol. The other ingredient (excipient) is sodium stearate.

It is very simple to use. Simply take the suppository and insert it deeply into the rectum, keeping the buttocks tight as long as possible to suppress evacuation and allow the medicine to work.
