It is a medicine in the form of glycerine suppositories formulated with glycerol, an active ingredient with a laxative action that is administered rectally. The laxative effect is achieved by the ability of glycerol to soften the stool which, together with a slight local irritant action, stimulates bowel movements.

Its use is indicated for the local symptomatic relief of transient and occasional constipation in children under 2 years of age.
The recommended dose of Glycilax Infants is1 glycerine suppository per day, as needed, or as directed by your doctor.
1. Once removed from the blister pack, moisten the suppository with cold water by placing it under running water for 30 seconds or in a glass of water for at least 10 seconds before insertion.
Insert the suppository deeply into the rectum.
3. Hold the evacuation as much as possible so that the preparation can perfectly exert its action. In infants, it is recommended to keep the thighs together for a short period of time.
Do not use Glycilax for infants:
Like all medicines, Glycilax Lactantes glycerine suppositories may cause side effects, although not all people will experience them. In this case,during the period of use of glycerol rectally as a laxative, the following adverse effects have been observed, the frequency of which could not be established exactly:anal irritation, stinging or itching.
In case of blood in stools, irritation, pain or simply no improvement, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days in a row, unless your doctor tells you to.
The active ingredient in Glycilax Infants is glycerol. Specifically, each suppository contains 0.672 g of glycerol. The other excipients are: stearic acid and sodium hydroxide.
Abusive and prolonged use of this medicine may lead to irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms or discomfort such as alternating constipation and diarrhoea, intestinal spasms, bloating, nausea and gas).
The medicine should not be used for more than 7 days in a row.If the symptoms do not improve, you should stop the treatment and consult your doctor.
