Rectal laxative solution for the local relief of occasional constipation in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Contains 12 micro-enemas.
It is a medicine that can be used without a prescription, in enema format for rectal use that acts as a laxative thanks to the action of sodium citrate, which retains liquid in the intestine, increasing the volume of water in the faeces, and sodium lauryl sulphoacetate, an active ingredient with moisturising properties. Also known as constipation tablets.
It comes in a pack containing 12 micro-enemas.
This constipation remedy is intended for use by adults and adolescents over 12 years of age seeking relief from the symptoms of occasional constipation.
Apply 1 enema per day to the rectum. Once used, suppress bowel movements for as long as possible to allow the medicine to work properly to remove constipation.
This treatment should not be used for more than 6 days in a row.
Do not use Micralax enemas:
- In children under 12 years of age.
- In case of allergy to sodium lauryl sulphoacetate, sodium lauryl citrate or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine.
- If you suffer from haemorrhoids or haemorrhagic colitis .
Micralax enemas may cause side effects, as with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will experience them. In this case, although very rare, the following have been observed: allergic reactions, abdominal pain, diarrhoeal stools, discomfort in the anus and rectum.
Each enema contains 450 mg sodium citrate and 45 mg lauryl sulphoacetate as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: Sorbitol (E-420), Glycerol (E-422), Sorbic acid (E-200) and Purified water.
Micralax 5 ml 12 micro-enemas is a medicine called an osmotic laxative, as it contains a wetting agent that increases the volume of the stool to facilitate its evacuation and relieve occasional constipation.
It is available in cannula format for correct rectal administration and as suppositories.
