Kanova Adult 6 Enemas 7,5 ml

It is a medicine with a laxative action, which is administered rectally. The laxative effect is achieved by the stool-softening capacity of the glycerol , which, together with a slight local irritant action, stimulates bowel movements, thereby relieving the symptoms of occasional constipation.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Apply rectally, do not swallow.

Use 1 single-dose enema per day, when necessary, or as prescribed by a doctor.

Do not take Kanova tablets:

• If you are allergic to glycerol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

• If you have anorectal disease, haemorrhagic rectocolitis or inflamed haemorrhoids.

• If you have cramps, colic, nausea, vomiting or other signs of appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, acute inflammatory bowel diseases or, in general, any situation of abdominal pain, without knowing the cause.

• If under 12 years of age.

• Pregnancy and breast-feeding are not recommended without consulting a doctor, as there is insufficient data on the use of this medicine in these circumstances.

Like all medicines, Kanova may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. Specifically, during the period of use of glycerol rectal solution as a laxative, the following side effects have been observed:

• Itching, pain and irritation of the anus.

• Allergic reactions to chamomile: swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat causing difficulty in swallowing or breathing.

Each single-dose container of Kaloba Adult Rectal Solution contains 6.75 g of glycerol. Other excipients: Mallow flower fluid extract, Matricaria chamomilla fluid extract, carmellose sodium and purified water.

Kanova Adult is a very useful medicine when it comes to tackling the symptoms of occasional constipation.

It is very easy to apply. Simply place it vertically with the tip facing upwards, squeeze lightly to moisten the end of the cannula and make it easier to insert into the rectum. Once the enema has been inserted, squeeze the container until the contents are completely emptied.

A healthy diet rich in fibre, exercise and adequate hydration are recommended.
