Oral emulsion for the symptomatic relief of occasional constipation in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

It is a laxative medicine that works by lubricating and softening the stool to make it easier to pass. It is therefore indicated for the relief of occasional constipation.
It comes in a 230 ml container.
Suitable for use by adults and children over 12 years of age.
The recommended daily dose varies according to the age of the patient.
Adults: take 15 ml before going to bed and, if necessary, repeat the intake in the morning 2 hours before or 2 hours after breakfast.
From 12 years of age: take 5-10 ml before bedtime.
Do not use Emuliquen Laxative Oral Solution:
In children under 12 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medicine.
If you suffer from intestinal obstruction, paralytic ileus, appendicitis or intestinal perforation, gastrointestinal bleeding or inflammatory bowel disease.
If you have haemorrhoids or anal fissures.
As with all medicines, Emuliquen laxative may cause side effects:
Frequent adverse reactions: loss of water, electrolytes and potassium which may cause muscular or cardiac disturbances.
Very frequent adverse reactions: dehydration, loss of water-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E and K), anal loss of liquid paraffin, abdominal pain.
The active ingredients of Emuliquen Laxative Oral Solution are liquid paraffin and sodium picosulphate. Each ml of oral emulsion contains 478.26 mg of liquid paraffin and 0.3 mg of sodium picosulphate.
The other ingredients are: lichen extract, glycerol (E-422), gum arabic, vanillin, benzoic acid (E-210) and purified water.
This medicine is in the form of an oral emulsion.
It is recommended to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water while taking this medicine, in order to avoid dehydration.
It is administeredorally, dissolved in a drink and preferably in the evening, so that defecation occurs the following morning. Do not take this medicine lying down.
If defecation does not occur within 12 hours of administration, or if symptoms persist after 6 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor.
