Laxative medicinal product indicated for the local symptomatic relief of transient and occasional constipation for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age. Rectal route.

It is a medicine containing glycerol, an active ingredient with a laxative action, which is administered rectally. The laxative effect is achieved by the ability of glycerol to soften the stool which, together with a slight local irritant action, stimulates bowel movements.
It comes in a pack with 6 applicators.
It is indicated for the local symptomatic relief of transient and occasional constipation for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.
This medicine is administered rectally. The normal dose is 1 single-dose pack per day.
Instructions for the correct administration of the medicine:
Open the applicator, holding it by the neck and twist the cap, making it easier to break the seal.
Squeeze lightly so that a few drops of the medicine moisten the end of the cannula, in order to facilitate its introduction into the rectum.
Gently and slowly insert the cannula of the applicator into the rectum.
Insert the contents of the applicator by pressing on the walls of the bellows and gently withdraw the applicator once the application is complete.
Each applicator is loaded with excess product, which remains in the applicator after use so that the amount released on application is the full dose and does not need to be completely emptied, which facilitates handling. Itshould be discarded after use.
Do not use Verolax Adults:
Like all medicines, Verolax Adults may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In this case,during the period ofuse of this medicinal product, the following side effects have been observed, the frequency of which cannot be established with certainty: itching, pain and irritation of the anus.
Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions to chamomile (e .g. contact dermatitis) have occurred in allergic patients . After internal use these may be severe, and may include: swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat causing difficulty in swallowing or breathing.
The active substance in Verolax Adult is glycerol. Specifically, each unidose pack containing 7.5 ml of rectal solution contains 5.4 ml of glycerol. The other excipients are: fluid extract of Malva sylvestris, fluid extract of Matricaria chamomilla, wheat starch and purified water.
Abusive and prolonged use of this medicine may lead to irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms or discomfort such as alternating constipation and diarrhoea, intestinal spasms, bloating, nausea and gas).
The medicine should not be used for more than 7 days in a row.If the symptoms do not improve, you should stop the treatment and consult your doctor.
