Sachets for the treatment of the symptoms of acute non-specific diarrhoea in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age.

It is a medicine belonging to the group of so-called antidiarrhoeals, thanks to its formula with tannate gelatine, an active ingredient indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of acute non-specific diarrhoea, when dietary measures and oral rehydration are not sufficient.
It comes in a pack of 20 sachets.
For whom it is intended for
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age.
Take 2 sachets (500 mg of tannate gelatine) every 4-6 hours, up to a maximum of 12 sachets per day (equivalent to 3,000 mg of tannate gelatine).
It is recommended to dissolve the contents of the sachet in water or milk. The powder can also be taken mixed with food, yoghurt, juice or porridge, preferably fruit.
Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose.
Contraindications
Do not use Tanagel:
In children under 14 years of age.
If you are allergic to tannate gelatine, tannic acid, gelatine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have a bacterial infection in your intestine and have gastrointestinal ulceration and inflammation, - If you have blood in your stools,
if you have a high fever,
if you have a liver problem (liver failure), - if you have a high fever
if you have sudden changes in bowel habits that persist for more than two weeks.
Like all medicines, Tanagel Powder may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. Specifically, the following have been observed:
Frequency not known:
Constipation, intestinal obstruction and abdominal pain, local damage to intestinal villi.
Allergic reactions.
Each sachet of Tanagel contains as active ingredient, and only component, tannate gelatine, 250 mg.
Patients with diarrhoea should drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration, which is manifested by dry mouth, excessive thirst, decreased urination, shrivelled skin, dizziness or lightheadedness. This is especially important in the elderly.
Since the treatment of diarrhoea with Tanagel is only symptomatic, it should be treated with regard to its cause whenever possible.
For the duration of treatment, it is important to drink plenty of water and other fluids. If symptoms worsen or persist after 2 days, the patient's clinical condition should be evaluated.
