Capsules for the treatment of the symptoms of acute non-specific diarrhoea in adults and those over 12 years of age.

It is a medicine with anti-diarrhoeal properties that acts by reducing bowel movements and secretions to reduce the number of liquid stools. It is therefore indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute non-specific diarrhoea.
It comes in a practical pack of 20 capsules.
It can be used in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the weight and age of the patient. Specifically:
Adults: take 2 capsules as a starting dose, followed by 1 capsule after each bowel movement up to a maximum of 8 capsules per day,
Over 12 years of age: start with 1 capsule and then 1 capsule after each bowel movement with a maximum number of capsules depending on weight, ranging from 4 to 7 capsules.

Do not use Sindiar 2 mg:
In children under 12 years of age, without medical supervision.
If you are allergic to loperamide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
In children under 2 years of age.
If you have blood in your stools or high fever (above 38 ºC).
If you have acute ulcerative colitis.
If you have severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics.
If you have diarrhoea due to an infection caused by organisms such as Salmonella, Shigella or Campylobacter.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Like all medicines, Sindiar capsules may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. Specifically, the following have been observed:
Rare: hypersensitivity reactions (skin rashes), urinary retention.
Very rare: constipation, bloating, nausea and vomiting, paralytic ileus (persistent constipation).
Unknown frequency: upper abdominal pain, abdominal pain radiating to the back, tenderness when touching the abdomen, fever, rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting, which may be symptoms of inflammation of the pancreas (acute pancreatitis). There may also be discomfort that is usually difficult to differentiate from symptoms of diarrhoea; abdominal pain and/or bloating, nausea and vomiting, tiredness, drowsiness or dizziness and dry mouth.
The active substance in Sindiar is loperamide hydrochloride. Each capsule contains 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride. The other ingredients (excipients) are: mannitol, magnesium stearate and talc.
Before taking this medicine you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, as they may interact with each other.
The capsules should be taken whole with a glass of water and drink plenty of fluids throughout the day to avoid dehydration.
If after 2 days the symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult a doctor.
