Diafir Flas is a drug whose main component is loperamide, and its function is to stop diarrhoea by compacting the stool and reducing the frequency of bowel movements.
It is ananti-diarrhoeal medicinethat works by reducing bowel movements and secretions, decreasing the number of liquid stools. It istherefore used to treatthe symptoms of acutenon-specificdiarrhoea.
It comes in apack containing 12 tablets.
Intended for use in adults and adolescentsover 12 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the age and weight of the patient. Specifically:

Do not use Diarfin Flastablets:
Em under 12 years of age, without prescription or medical supervision.
In children under 2 years of age, under no circumstances.
If you are allergic to loperamide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have blood in your stools or high fever (above 38 ºC).
If you have acute ulcerative colitis.
If you have severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics.
If you have diarrhoea due to an infection caused by organisms such as Salmonella, Shigella or Campylobacter.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Likeall medicines,Diarfin Flas freeze-dried tablets may cause side effects. This medicine may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.
If any of the side effects listed below occur, stop treatment and seek medical advice:
Allergic reactions such as skin rash, swelling of the face, tongue or throat that may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing .
Severe allergic reactions including anaphylactic shock.

Severe blistering or peeling of the skin.
Loss or decreased level of consciousness.

The active substance is loperamide hydrochloride.
Each Diarfin Flas oral lyophilisate contains 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride. The other ingredients are pululan, mannitol (E-421), sodiumhydrogencarbonate, aspartame (E-951), polysorbate 80, peppermint flavour (maize maltodextrin, flavouring ingredients and modified waxy maize starch ) .
Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, as they may interact with each other.
These dissolve quickly in the mouth, so you do not need water to swallow them. Do not chew. Take by mouth only.
If after 2 days of treatment the symptoms do not improve or get worse, consult a doctor.
