What is Salmagne and what is it for?

Salmagne is a medicine in the form of a powder for oral solution for the treatment and improvement of symptoms associated with constipation, dyspepsia and gastric hyperacidity.

It comes in a convenient 125g pack.

Who it is intended for

Suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age.

Directions for use

Take 1 or 2 tablespoons a day.

Contraindications

Do not use Salmagne:

  • In children under 18 years of age.

  • In cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

  • In patients with renal or cardiac insufficiency, arterial hypertension, metabolic alkalosis.

  • During pregnancy and lactation, unless prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects

As with all medicines, Salmagne may cause side effects, including the following: diarrhoea, hypermagnesaemia.

Composition

Salmagne contains magnesium citrate 0.55 g, magnesium sulphate 0.2 g, mannitol 0.25 g, sodium bicarbonate 2.0 g, tartaric acid 1.85 g as the active substance. The other excipients are: sodium carboxymethylcellulose, saccharin sodium, lemon essence.

The powder should be dissolved in half a glass of water and taken before or after meals.

Do not take with milk.
