Lebersal Effervescent Granules 100 g

It is a granulated medicine for the treatment of constipation, heartburn and dyspepsia caused by overeating.

It comes in a 100 g bottle.

Suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age.

The usual dose is 1 or 2 teaspoons on an empty stomach or before main meals.

It is advisable not to take more than 4 teaspoons, nor to exceed 4 intakes per day.

• Do not use Lebersal in children under 18 years of age.

• Hypersensitivity or allergy to any of its components. Alkalosis. Ileostomy. Gastrointestinal or rectal bleeding. Appendicitis or its symptoms (abdominal pain, cramps, nausea, vomiting, bloated belly, intestinal obstruction or inflammation). Abdominal pain of unknown origin.

• Do not use LEBERSAL if you suffer from hypertension, severe heart or kidney failure, are pregnant, are prone to water retention (oedema), or in general if you are following a diuretic treatment or a low-salt diet (low in sodium). It is also contraindicated in diarrhoeal processes.

• Pregnancy and breast-feeding are not recommended without consulting a doctor, as there is insufficient data on the use of this medicine in these circumstances.

• The use of medicines during pregnancy may be dangerous for the embryo or foetus and should be monitored by your doctor.

Like all medicines, Lebersal may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In particular, at high doses it may cause vomiting, diarrhoea and swelling of the feet. At very high doses or in prolonged treatment, it may cause alkalosis.

Each 100 g of Lebersal contains: sodium bicarbonate 12.50 g, anhydrous disodium phosphate 8.40 g, anhydrous sodium sulphate 3.15 g, dried magnesium sulphate 1.05 g.

This is a very useful medicine both as a laxative and as an antacid. It has a refreshing citrus flavour, making it very pleasant to take.

It is recommended to use it before each meal, administering the dose correctly with the help of its dosing spoon.

A healthy diet rich in fibre, low in saturated fats, exercise and adequate hydration is recommended.
