Laxative Health 7.5 mg 30 Film-coated Tablets

It is a stimulant-type laxative medicine that increases bowel movement. These laxative effects are produced by a mechanism of increased colon movement and stimulation of fluid secretion processes, favouring evacuation.

Suitable for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age with occasional constipation.

Laxative Salud is administered orally. The normal dose in adults and children over 12 years of age is 1 to 3 tablets a day, taken in the evening with a sufficient amount of liquid and without chewing.

Do not use for more than 6 days without consulting a doctor.

As with all medicines, Laxative Health may cause side effects, although not everybody suffers from them.

At high doses or in cases of high sensitivity to the components of this medicine, allergic skin reactions may occur. If more than the recommended amount is taken, pain in the abdomen and liquid stools may occur. The same effects occur at recommended doses in patients with irritable bowel syndrome.

Prolonged use of this medicine may result in electrolyte balance disorders, dehydration, albuminuria and haematuria. The urine may appear dark (brownish) due to the compounds that are eliminated. This is of no clinical significance and will disappear when treatment is discontinued.

Do not use Laxative Health:

• In children under 12 years of age.
• If you are allergic or hypersensitive to Cassia angustifolia (Senna) dry extract or any of the other ingredients of Laxative Health.
• If you have appendicitis or symptoms of appendicitis (nausea, vomiting, cramps or abdominal pain);
• If you have bowel problems such as: bleeding in the rectum; intestinal obstruction; haemorrhoids; severe liver disease; inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis); intestinal atony; water and electrolyte metabolism disorders.
• If you have congestive heart failure (the heart does not pump enough blood).

The active ingredients in Laxative Health are: 12.5 mg of Cassia angustifolia leaf extract containing 7.5 mg of total sennosides, expressed as sennoside B.

The other ingredients present in its composition are:

• Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium phosphate, glyceryl behenate.
• Coating: Sepifilm LP 770 (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid and titanium dioxide (E-171)).

If after six days of treatment the symptoms do not improve or worsen, or if you notice any pain or discomfort, consult your doctor.
