Oral solution for the symptomatic relief of occasional constipation in adults and children over 6 years of age.

It is a medicine formulated with liquid paraffin, an active ingredient with a laxative action that has lubricating and stool-softening properties, facilitating evacuation. It is therefore indicated for the occasional relief of constipation.
Comes in a 300 ml bottle.
Suitable for use by adults and children over 6 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the age of the patient:
Adults: take 15 ml before bedtime. If necessary, take again in the morning two hours before or two hours after breakfast.
Children 6-12 years: take 5 ml before bedtime. If necessary, take again in the morning, two hours before or two hours after breakfast.
Do not use Hodernal:
In children under 6 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients present in the formula of this medicine.
If you suffer from intestinal obstruction, paralytic ileus, appendicitis or intestinal perforation, gastrointestinal bleeding or inflammatory bowel disease, if you have undiagnosed intestinal or rectal bleeding and colostomy or ileostomy.
Like all medicines, Hodernal may cause side effects:
Frequent: water loss, anal itching or irritation.
Very frequent: dehydration, loss of water-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E and K), anal loss of liquid paraffin, abdominal pain.
The active substance of Hodernal is liquid paraffin. Each ml contains 800 mg of liquid paraffin. The other ingredients are: lemon essential oil, sorbitan dioleate.
This medicine comes as a clear solution in a 300 ml PVC bottle and has a lemon odour.
Do not take this medicine while lying down.
While taking this medicine, it is necessary to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water to avoid dehydration.
It should be taken orally, dissolved in a drink such as juice, water or milk and administered at night so that defecation occurs the following morning.
If defecation does not occur within 12 hours of taking this medicine, or if symptoms persist after 6 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor.
