It is a medicine in the form of suppositories formulated with glycerol, an active ingredient with a laxative action that is administered rectally. It has a softening effect on the stool and a slightly irritating local action that stimulates bowel movements.
It is therefore used for the treatment of occasional constipation.
Who it is intended for
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.
The usual dose is 1 suppository per day, when needed.
Do not use Cuve Glycerine Suppositories:
If you have an allergy to glycerol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have anorectal disease or inflamed haemorrhoids.
If you have any symptoms of appendicitis or abdominal pain for which you do not know the cause.
In children under 12 years of age.
In case of blood in stools, irritation, pain or if you do not improve you should stop the treatment and consult a doctor.
Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days in a row unless your doctor tells you to.
This medicine should only be used under strict medical supervision in patients with serious diseases, especially cardiovascular (relating to the heart or blood vessels).
Like all medicines, Cuve Glycerine Suppositories may cause side effects, but this does not mean that everyone will experience side effects.
In the case of glycerine suppositories, irritation, itching or pain in the anus may occur, although the frequency of occurrence is unknown.
The active ingredient in Cuve Glycerine Suppositories is glycerol. Specifically, each suppository contains 3 grams of glycerol. The other excipients are: sodium carbonate and stearic acid.
Wash hands thoroughly before use.
It is very simple to use. Just take the suppository and insert it deeply into the rectum, keeping the buttocks tight as long as possible to suppress evacuation and allow the medicine to work.
