Sachets for the treatment of habitual constipation in adults and children over 6 years of age.

It is a medicine with a laxative action that acts as an intestinal regulator, increasing the volume of the stool to facilitate its evacuation. It is therefore used to relieve the symptoms of transitory constipation and in situations where it is necessary to facilitate the passage of stool, such as anal and rectal surgery, anal fissures and haemorrhoids.
It comes in a practical pack of 50 sachets.
Suitable for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.
To be taken as a single dose, either in the morning or in the evening, usually mixed with food or drink. It is recommended to take 1-2 glasses of liquid with meals.
Children 6-12 years: ½ sachet - 1 sachet per day.
Adolescents 12-16 years: 1-2 sachets per day.
From 12 years of age: the initial dose is usually 2 sachets together, although after several days one sachet is usually sufficient. Up to 3 sachets may be taken.
Do not use Emportal 50 sachets:
In children under 6 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the components present in this medicine.
If you suffer from inflammatory diseases of the colon, abdominal obstruction, paralytic ileus or difficulty in defecating after using a laxative.
If you suffer from abdominal pain without knowing the cause.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding without first consulting a doctor.
Like all medicines, Emportal may cause side effects:
Frequent adverse reactions: abdominal discomfort, flatulence, stomach pain or spasms, vomiting.
The active substance in Emportal is lactitol monohydrate. Each sachet contains 10 grams of lactitol monohydrate. The other ingredients are: Emportal does not contain any excipients.
This is an oral medicine. It is a white, sweet-tasting powder for oral solution.
Constipation should be treated, as a first step, with a diet rich in fibre, plenty of fluids or physical exercise. If these measures are not sufficient, the use of an osmotic laxative may be recommended.
