Rhino-Ebastel is a capsule that relieves nasal congestion associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis. Thanks to its combination of ebastine, an antihistamine, and pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, it prevents the release of histamine while controlling the symptoms of congestion.
Intended for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older seeking relief from seasonal allergy symptoms such as nasal congestion.
The recommended dose is 1 capsule per day, preferably in the morning at breakfast. Adults over 18 years of age may take 1 capsule every 12 hours if necessary.
In patients with severe liver disease, the dose of 1 capsule per day should not be exceeded.
Do not take Rhino-Ebastel:
- If you are under 12 years of age or over 60 years of age.
- If you are allergic to ebastine, pseudoephedrine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- In cases of narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe high blood pressure, coronary insufficiency, hyperthyroidism, severe liver disease.
- If you are in the first trimester of pregnancy or breast-feeding. It is recommended not to use Rino Enbastel during the remainder of pregnancy, except on medical advice.
- If you are breast-feeding
- In case of low blood potassium levels.
- If you have low blood potassium levels.
- If you are being treated with rifampicin, levodopa, selegiline, nitrates, ketoconazole, itraconazole, macrolide antibiotics, MAOI antidepressants, urinary alkalinisers, nervous system stimulants, glycolytic acid, or digitalis glycosides.It is also not recommended for the use of medicines containing phenobarbital agents (methyldopa, mecamylamine, reserpine and veratrum alkaloids).
- Also not when using medicines containingphenylephrine, methoxamine, phenylpropanolamine, etilefrine, propylhexedrine, naphazoline, oxymetazoline, tetrahydrozoline, xylometazoline, phenoxazoline, tramazoline, chlorobutanol, reserpine, methyldopa, mecamylamine, guanethidine and veratrum alkaloids.
For athletes: this medicine contains a component that can give a positive result in anti-doping tests.
As with all medicines, Rhino-Ebastel may cause side effects, including the following:
Very common: headache
Frequent: dry mouth, drowsiness.
Rare:
Allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis and angioedema.
Nervousness, insomnia.
Dizziness, decreased sensation of touch or altered taste.
Tachycardia.
Digestive problems such as abdominal pain, vomiting or nausea.
Hepatitis or inflammation of the liver.
Hives, rash or dermatitis.
Menstrual cycle disorders.
Oedema.
Very rare:
Anxiety or agitation.
Excitability.
Hypertension.
Urinary retention.

Increase in appetite and weight.
Each capsule of Rhino-Ebastel contains 10 mg of ebastine and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride as the main active ingredients. The other excipients are: sucrose, maize starch, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose (E-460i), 8-polyoxyl stearate, macrogol, glycerol polyethylene glycol oxystearate, silicone emulsion 30 %, silicone copolymer, polyethylene glycol copolymer (E-460i), polyethylene glycol oxystearate, silicone emulsion 30 %, silicone copolymer 30(E-460i), 8-polyoxyl stearate, macrogol, glyceryl oxystearate, polyethylene glycol, 30% silicone emulsion, ammonium methacrylate copolymer, methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:2), dibutyl sebacate and talc. The capsule components are: erythrosine (E-127), iron oxide red (E-172), iron oxide yellow (E-172), titanium dioxide (E-171), gelatin and ink (shellac lacquer, propylene glycol (E-1520), sodium hydroxide (E-524), povidone (E-1201) and titanium dioxide (E-171)).
Rino-Ebastel tablets are a medicine made up of a combination of active ingredients with antihistamine and decongestant action, which help to combat the nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
It is taken orally, preferably in the morning at breakfast, to reduce possible adverse effects.
